January 2006 Prayer Letter
Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord for a new year in which to serve the God of
Heaven and Earth. I am excited about the opportunities that the
Lord has placed before me this year. Lord willing, I will be
getting married, traveling to more than sixty meetings
throughout the year and, following our wedding, going on a
survey trip to Peru with my bride-to-be, Sara.
As I wrote in last month’s letter, I will be married on June 23,
2006, to Sara Ruth Funderburk of Salisbury, NC. I would like to
introduce you to her briefly. Sara had the opportunity to grow
up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of twelve. One
year later, she felt the Lord burdening her heart for missions.
As the years went by, the Lord gave her a great love and burden
for Spanish-speaking people and later put in her heart a desire
to go to Central or South America as a missionary. I am thankful
to the Lord for bringing us together in His perfect time that we
might go and serve Him together in the country of Peru, South
America.
Please pray for me as I travel to four meetings in Michigan and
Virginia during the month of January. During the winter months
especially, keep me in prayer as I travel through potentially
hazardous weather conditions. Also, please pray for Sara as she
completes her third year at Crown College in Powell, TN.
The Lord has already tremendously blessed me in 2006 by allowing
me to schedule fifteen new meetings. In addition, He has
provided $1,000 of the $3,000 necessary for our survey trip in
July. To God be the glory. Our support level is at 20% currently
but we are trusting God for great things in 2006.
I would like to take the time to thank all of our supporters for
their faithful prayers and financial gifts. The Lord has given
us such a wonderful group of churches and individuals that are a
blessing to us on a regular basis. We thank you so much for your
faithfulness because we cannot reach the country of Peru without
you.
Please continue to be much in prayer for me to schedule new
meetings and to be filled with the Spirit of God as I present
the work in new churches.
Serving the Lord with gladness,
Robert Stover, Jr.
