August 2006 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

         What a joyous thing it is to be in the Lord’s service. We thank the Lord for His calling on our lives and for placing us into the ministry (I Timothy 1:12) With great joy, we serve in the ministry that the Lord has given to us now, and we look forward to the day when we will arrive in Perú and carry out the work He has for us there.

         Thank you so much for your prayers for our safety during the last month. We had a wonderful time on our survey trip in Perú. The Lord gave is the opportunity to visit with the missionaries and to see the place where we will attend language school and begin the Lord the Lord has called us to do. During our nine days in Perú, we saw many different places and gained useful information regarding the area where we may live, the cost of living, availability of certain items, and things we will need to bring with us.

         Our time of fellowship with the missionaries was tremendous. Brother Chris Gardner, our field director, was able to share many things with us and to take us to some interesting sites in Arequipa. Through it all, the Lord confirmed in our hearts the call that He has placed upon our lives to carry the Gospel to this needy place. Please continue to pray that the Lord would allow us to reach the field of Perú by July of 2007.

            Upon returning from Perú, we have resumed our busy schedule. We have had the opportunity to travel to churches in Illinois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and North Carolina thus far in the month of August to share our burden for the people of Perú. Please pray for us as we travel to other churches to present the work.

             I would ask that you would pray for Sara as she prepares to begin her last year of school at Crown College of the Bible in Knoxville, Tennessee. Also, please pray that the Lord would supply us with the meetings that we need in order to raise the needed financial support. The Lord has already blessed us with close to 35% of our needed support! Please pray that the Lord would bring in the remainder of our support in a timely manner. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to the Lord in giving financially and praying for our ministry.
