October/November 2007 Prayer Letter
Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Thank
the Lord for the gifts that He showers upon us every day. He has
given us the greatest gift of salvation and has also bestowed
upon us our families, friends, and brothers and sisters in
Christ. Our family thanks God for each and every one of you who
makes mention of us in your prayers (Eph. 1:16).
Blessings: The Lord continues to
bless us as we travel on deputation. He has given us safety as
we have traveled many miles over the last few weeks. After a
mission conference in Tennessee, we found that our car wouldn’t
start. We thank the Lord for a mechanic in the church there who
was able to fix the problem and get us back on the road. On
October 21st, I had the opportunity to preach at a church in
Hickory, NC, and during the invitation time a lady came forward
to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. I am
thankful that the Lord is still in the “soul-saving” business.
Also, during the months of September and October, the Lord
supplied us with 5 new supporting churches. We are
so thankful that God continues to prosper us toward the time
when we will be able to go and begin the ministry that He has
called us to in Perú.
Josiah: Baby Josiah continues to
grow and do new things every day. Sara and I are enjoying so
much these first few months of having a little one. He is now 2
months old, and the time has just flown by. He started out at
just 6 ½ pounds, and now he is up to11 pounds. We keep telling
him how wonderful it is to sleep all night, but he hasn’t
believed us just yet. Sara does a great job looking after him,
and Dad does what he can (Yes, Dad has changed several diapers
by now.). Sunday evening, October 28th, we had the opportunity
to dedicate Josiah to the Lord during a service at our home
church. Please pray that God would give us wisdom as we seek to
raise Josiah in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Prayer Needs: Please pray that the Lord would fill us with His Spirit and
power as we present our burden in churches in Florida, Georgia,
South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio in the next few
weeks. We also ask that you would pray with us for 20 new
supporting churches to make up the last 25% of our needed
support. Please also be praying that God would prepare the
hearts of the Perúvians to whom we will be ministering.
Thanksgiving: Psalm 95:2 states,
“Let us come before his presence with
thanksgiving…” How thankful we should be to God for all that
He has done for us. Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful time to
remember how thankful we should be all year round. May each of
you have a blessed Thanksgiving! Our family thanks the Lord for
each one who supports us prayerfully and financially. We could
not do what we are doing without your faithfulness.
Thankfully Serving the Lord,
Robert, Sara, and Josiah Stover
