May/June 2010 Prayer Letter
Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
“GOD LEADS HIS DEAR
CHILDREN ALONG”
Pastor David and I have the opportunity to visit
and disciple several afternoons and evenings
each week. Every Friday night, I am privileged
to teach a Bible study group at a church
member’s home. It is encouraging to see people
so hungry to learn from the Word of God. We
praise the Lord that in the last few weeks,
we’ve seen several folks come to know Christ and
others start coming to church!
On May 25, we were leaving
a church member’s home after discipleship, and
it was quite a bit later than usual. We were
walking down the street when a young woman whom
we had never seen before called out to us. She
wanted to know what church we were from.
Weeping, she told us that her baby girl had died
just a few weeks earlier and that she was now
suffering from deep depression. David beg an to
share with her how she could see her baby again
by trusting Christ as
Savior. She prayed right
there and accepted the Lord as Savior. She
seemed to find great comfort from the story of
David and his little one that died in 2 Samuel
12. How exciting that the Lord placed
us in the right place at
the exact right time to be able to see this
young woman come to know Christ!
God is so good!
Answered Prayer:
-
The
Lord supplied us with a car! I’m still
getting used to driving here, but we’re so
thankful for the blessing of being able to
get around more conveniently.
-
God
worked in a special way during our Family
Conference May 2 & 3. Three people accepted
Christ and many more made decisions to serve
the Lord as a family.
-
We
praise the Lord for Alberto and Miriam
setting an example with their wedding on May
15. Another couple in the church were also
married May 30. We’re thrilled to see these
young people choosing to be obedient to the
Lord!
-
God
blessed this semester at the Bible College.
We’re so excited to see the students
progressing and learning from God’s Word.
-
Sara
is doing well with the pregnancy and is
feeling much better!
-
God
blessed in a great way during the medical
clinic held June 7-10. I had the opportunity
to assist in translation again this year.
1700 people came through, were treated, and
were given
the Gospel. Nearly 700
made professions of faith.
Prayer Requests:
-
One
young man from the English classes has been
coming to services the last few weeks.
Please keep praying for this outreach!
-
Please
pray for Olga, Jesus, and Luis
to accept Christ. These are folks we have
been visiting.
Thank you so much for your
faithful support and for holding us up in
prayer! May the Lord bless you in a mighty way!
