November/December 2010 Prayer Letter
Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
Good News!
The angel said to the shepherds in Luke 2:10,
“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good
tidings of great joy.” We have much good
news to share this month! Joshua’s Arrival:
November 17, Joshua Thomas Stover was born
weighing 5 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 19 1/3
inches long. He and Sara are doing great. Sara’s
parents were visiting during this time and had
the opportunity to meet their new grandson when
he was just a few hours old. Thank you for
praying for his safe arrival!
3 Weddings & 7
Baptisms: We had the privilege
of seeing three couples in the church get
married on November 27 -- Rubén & Yovanna, Fran
& Irma, and Johnny & Lucy. All had been living
together for some time and were excited about
taking this step of obedience. We had a
reception afterwards for them at the church. The
very next day, the three newly-wed couples and
one other young man (Elvis) followed the Lord in
believer’s baptism. We had the baptism in the
Chile River. What an special time it was to see
these folks taking these steps of obedience for
their Lord! Many of those who were baptized are
growing in Christ and are wanting to serve in
the church. Praise the Lord!
Thanksgiving:
We enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner
with Sara’s parents and several folks from
church. We are so thankful for the people that
God has given us to work with both here in Perú
and in the United States. Thank you for your
prayers and support; we could not do it without
you!
Graduation:
December 3, 10 students graduated from the
Macedonia Baptist College. I am thankful to have
the opportunity to teach and invest in the lives
of these young people.
Christmas:
Our church Christmas service will be held
December 22 with refreshments and gifts given
for the children after the service. December 23,
we will be having a neighborhood Christmas party
in our home. God has allowed us to build
friendships with several of our neighbors and we
look forward to being able to share with them
the true meaning of Christmas.
Please pray that the
Lord would bless and work in these times!
We are also looking forward to spending
Christmas Day with several families from church.
December 31, we are planning a watch night
service. Rubén and Johnny will each be preaching
a short message during this service. This will
be their first time preaching. Please pray for
them!
Prayer
Requests: -Please keep us in
prayer as we travel back to the United States on
January 9th. We will be visiting for one month
to be able to attend my brother Gabriel’s
wedding and to visit with family. We look
forward to stopping by several supporting
churches as well. -Please also continue to
pray for the salvation of: Otie, Jesús, and
Luis.
Thank you so much for all you do to see souls
saved here in Perú!
May the Lord bless you all
with a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New
Year!
