Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by whom we are given the opportunity to rejoice during this Holy season and all year round. Luke 2:11 states, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” How wonderful that the God of Heaven would send us a Savior so that we could have eternal life. It is our duty to tell others about the Savior that has so changed our lives. The world’s only hope is hearing about this Savior and it is our duty to tell them about Him.
God has greatly blessed me this month in every way. The one thing that He has blessed me with specifically is the fact that I am now engaged to be married to a godly young lady. On November 19, Sara Funderburk and I were engaged to be married and our wedding date has been set for Friday, June 23, 2006 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.” God has definitely brought us together in His perfect timing and has blessed our relationship in every way. Sara has a definite heart to serve God and she has a great burden in her own heart for reaching Spanish-speaking people with the Gospel. I am so excited that God has brought us together to carry out the specific task that He has for us to do in Peru.
Please pray that God would give us wisdom as we plan for our wedding and prepare ourselves to go to the mission field. I will be traveling to many meetings for the first part of next year. After we are married, we will have meetings for part of the summer time and we will also be taking our survey trip to Peru in the month of July.
My prayer requests would be that the Lord give us both wisdom and draw us closer to Himself. Also, please be praying that God would raise our needed support in due time (we have 20% at this point). I would also like to ask you to pray to the Lord for the $3,000 that is needed for our survey trip in July.
Praying the Lord’s richest blessings upon you this Christmas season.
Serving the Lord with gladness,
