Greetings once again from sunny Tacna, Peru! It is a wonderful privilege to walk with the Lord daily. Enoch walked with God for 300 years and was then taken to Heaven (Gen. 5:23-25). What a sweet relationship that must have been! It is encouraging to know that God wants us to walk with Him as well. I encourage you to study God’s Word and pray that He would help you to live every moment in His presence.
Baptism Service
Sunday, May 3rd, 3 children and 1 teenager followed the Lord in believer’s baptism. One of the children was our 7-year-old son, Josiah. We are thrilled to see God working in the lives of these young people and pray for the salvation of many more.
Father’s Day
We had a special dinner on Father’s Day to which we invited the families of the children who come to church on the bus route. God blessed with 11 visitors, many of whom are unsaved. Please pray that the Lord would give us fruit for our labor as we follow up with these new people.
Missions Conference
We had a wonderful time of missions emphasis June 24-28. It is exciting to see many people getting involved helping decorate, preparing food for our international banquet, bringing visitors, giving toward gifts for the visiting missionaries, providing meals and refreshments, and much more. We were blessed to have Willy Pari (missionary we support here in Tacna), Henry Sucapuca (pastor in Arequipa), and Percy Lopez (missionary we support in Juliaca) as our special guests. We pray that God would help our church to see the need for missions and increase their faith to give more.
Thank you also for praying for the safe delivery of Pastor Willy and his wife Roxana’s baby boy. He arrived safely on Father’s Day.
Family News
June 23rd, we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I thank the Lord for my wife and the blessing she is to me, our children, and the ministry here. Also, we are thrilled to announce that God has blessed our family with a new baby BOY, due at the beginning of December. Now our basketball team is complete! Please pray for health for Sara and the baby.
We are thankful for the house we have been able to rent during our time here, but we have recently found out that our rent will be going up by 25%. We believe we should be able to find another house to rent for less. Please pray with us that God would give wisdom and direction as we are house hunting.
Vehicle Update
In February, we sold our car, with the goal of buying a larger vehicle. However, due to the car accident we had in March, much of the sale money was used to repair the vehicle we had borrowed from a fellow missionary. Because of this unexpected expense, we have not yet purchased a new vehicle. Our home church, the Carrollton Baptist Temple, has been giving toward this need and are willing to match any donation made up to $5,000. If the Lord should touch your heart about giving, please send the gift to MWBM marked, “Stover Vehicle Fund.” Thank you for your prayers and consideration.
May the Lord continue to bless you richly!
In the love of Christ,
Robert, Sara, Josiah, Caleb, Joshua, Lydia, and Zachary Stover
