It gives me great joy to write to you at this glorious time of year. Luke 2:11 states, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.” The birth of the Lord Jesus Christ literally changed the whole course of history. Instead of having to bear our own sins, Jesus was “born to die” in order to offer mankind the gift of salvation and the opportunity to live forever in Heaven with God. Praise the Lord for this holy gift from the God of Heaven himself.
Christmas Program:
We had our church Christmas program on December 15. Everything came together well for the drama, children’s choir, and youth choir. Following the program, Pastor Willy Pari gave a clear presentation of the plan of salvation. We had 10 first-time visitors for this special event. Please continue to pray that the Lord would give us open doors to minister to the spiritual needs of those who visited.
Prayer Needs:
-Please pray specifically for the families of our church at this time. Several have been going through extremely trying situations within the last 2 months. Pray that God would give them victory over the adversity they are facing.
Please pray for the summer activities we have planned: missions trip to Bolivia January 13-18 and two weeks of VBS in February.
Please pray for those who have visited our church recently, as well as for the people who attend our Bible study, to receive the Lord as Savior.
-Please pray for Madyson, the youngest child of our co-laborers Jonathan and Becky Earnhart. She has had various health issues, so that she and the family have had to spend several months in the States trying to find a suitable treatment for the problem. She is 4 years old.
Please pray for Sara as she prepares to deliver our 5th child at the end of January. Pray that God would give her strength through these hot summer months.
Praises:
-We have recently seen 2 young people accept the Lord as Savior. Please pray for them to grow spiritually.
-The Lord has blessed us with now more than $2,000 for the property for the new church and school. Thank you for praying and giving!
Christmas Surprise!
On December 9, I went to answer the door, and there to my surprise, stood my Dad, candy canes in hand, wishing us a Merry Christmas. What a tremendous surprise! The children were very excited to see Grandpa, after being away for nearly a year. We are so thankful for the 10 days that he was able to visit with us. We were able to do several special activities including celebrating an early Christmas with gifts and everything. Dad enjoyed meeting the people of our church and attending our normal weekly ministry opportunities. Needless to say, it was a great early Christmas present for our entire family!
Thank you for all you do for our family and for giving us the privilege of working here in Tacna, Peru through your faithful prayers and financial support. From our family to yours, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
Worshipping the Newborn King,
Robert, Sara, Josiah, Caleb, Joshua, & Lydia Stover
