Thank you so much for doing your part to help in the ministry here in Peru. Recently, we have received many encouraging e-mails from people to inform us that they are praying for both our family and ministry. What a blessing it is to serve the Lord together! The last part of I Corinthians 15:58 states, “…forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” Let’s just keep going on serving Him together!
God has allowed us to hold children’s Bible clubs on Saturday afternoons in up to 3 locations in our city. Our goal has always been to plant Bible principles in the children’s hearts and to take them to church on Sundays to learn more. Over the past several weeks, the Lord has increased our Sunday attendance of children drastically. We have had an average of 40 children! Please pray that many would be saved and raised up to serve the Lord, and that we would be able to reach their families also.
I traveled to preach in Arequipa at the end of July. It was a blessing to preach a Family Conference for Pastor Richard Roca and the people of Paucarpata Baptist Church. The trip involved being away all day on Sunday. It was a blessing that 2 of our faithful men were able to share God’s Word in the services, and that God used their messages to touch the hearts of our people. It is now winter here in Peru, and much sickness has been going around. We all became very ill recently with bad colds and fevers, and I was unable to preach on Sunday, August 6th. God used our men once again to bring forth helpful Bible messages. It is a blessing to have these faithful men, willing to be used of God, and we pray that the Lord will continue to raise up others for His honor and glory.
We were able to find a new house and are now moved in! The new house is not quite as big as our other house, but it is in a safe area, and our rent is much less than we had been paying previously. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf!
Sara and the baby are doing well, and we expect him to arrive in the first week or so of December. Please continue to pray for health and strength. The boys have begun their new school year, and are doing well.
-Stewardship Conference (Sept. 25-27)
-Project to fix the church roof
-Preparations for Christmas and summer ministries
We praise the Lord that He has now given us close to 70% of the needed funds to buy our new car. Several churches gave sacrificially toward this project, and we thank you very much! Please pray that God would supply the remaining funds, and that we would have wisdom in seeking out the exact vehicle He would have for us.
Our visa process is now in full swing again. The needed documents have arrived in Lima and are being processed (after having been lost in the mail twice). Please pray that God would speed the process along!
Thank you for your faithful prayers and giving!
In the love of Christ,
Robert, Sara, Josiah, Caleb, Joshua, Lydia, and Zachary Stover
